Feather Forge
The Feather Forge series is our feather-pattern Damascus line: 73 layers of forged steel drawn into a feather spine that runs the length of the blade, wrapped around a hardened AUS-10 core. The pattern is not printed or etched on — it is what the steel actually looks like once the billet has been forged, folded and ground, so no two blades here carry the same feather. Every Feather Forge knife is full tang, hand sharpened and oiled before it leaves us.
Which Feather Forge blade is for you
The 8" Chef Knife is the default answer for most kitchens — long enough for a butternut squash, agile enough for shallots. If you cut more vegetables than meat, the 7" Nakiri and its flat edge will beat a curved chef knife on a board full of cabbage and carrots. The 7" Santoku and 7" Bunka sit between the two: shorter, taller through the heel, quick on repetitive prep, with the bunka’s reverse-tanto tip better for detail work. For breaking down poultry, squash and bone-in cuts there is the 8" Cleaver; for hand work, the 6" Utility and 3.5" Paring Knife. If you want the pattern across a whole board, the Core Duo and the Complete Set cover a full prep station.
Every Feather Forge knife ships with a 99-day home trial and our free lifetime guarantee — use it in your own kitchen for three months, and send it back if it isn’t the sharpest blade you have ever used.
Is feather Damascus stronger than a normal Damascus knife?
The pattern itself is cosmetic. The cutting performance comes from the AUS-10 core the layers are forged around — that is the steel that takes and holds the edge. The feather billet is harder to forge, not harder to cut with.
Are these knives dishwasher safe?
No. Hand wash and dry them. The AUS-10 core is high-carbon stainless, but dishwasher heat and detergent will dull the edge and mark the pattern.
Will the feather pattern wear off?
It cannot. The pattern goes through the steel rather than sitting on the surface, so sharpening and years of use only expose more of it.
