Steak Knives
A great steak deserves better than a serrated table knife tearing it apart. These are forged steak knives — plain-edged, full tang, sharp enough to part a medium-rare ribeye in one pull so the juices stay in the meat.
What is in the range
Both sets share the same Dynasty blade: 67 layers of Damascus steel around a cobalt-enriched 10Cr15CoMoV core at 60±2 HRC. The core holds the edge through a whole dinner service; the outer layers are what your guests notice.
The Damascus Dynasty 5" Steak Knives are ground to a slim 1.8mm and set into full tang black walnut handles — the darker, warmer option on a set table. The Silver Dynasty 5" Steak Knives carry the same construction with a mirror-polished finish and full tang olive wood burl handles, each grain pattern one of a kind. Both come in sets of four, six or eight, so you can buy for the table you actually seat.
Why a plain edge beats a serrated one
A serrated table knife saws: every stroke drags the fibres and pushes juice out. A plain forged edge severs in one pass and leaves the cut face intact. It also sharpens — a serrated steak knife is disposable by design, while these come back to new for as long as you own them. The long version: plain edge vs serrated steak knives.
Questions worth answering
How many steak knives do I need? Buy for your largest regular table, not your average one. Four covers a family, six suits people who host, eight seats a full dinner party without washing between courses.
Can they go in the dishwasher? No. Detergent and heat will dull the edge and dry out the wood. Rinse, dry and put them away — it takes seconds.
What does 60 HRC actually mean? It is a hardness reading: harder steel holds a fine edge longer, too hard and it chips. 60 is where a steak knife stays keen through a season of Sunday roasts. See our guide to the Rockwell hardness scale, or read up on Damascus patterns if you want to know what those 67 layers are doing.
Every blade is hand sharpened and oiled before it ships, and every set carries a 99-day home trial and a free lifetime guarantee. Use them at your own table; if they are not the sharpest blades you have ever used, send them back.
