✦The Sapphire Santoku
The Feather Forge Sapphire 7” Santoku keeps the light, fast shape of our Feather Forge santoku and crowns it with a handle made for one kitchen only. Stabilised burl wood meets deep sapphire blue epoxy, hand poured one handle at a time, so the colour and movement in yours will never be repeated.
The blade is 67 layers of Damascus forged around a 10Cr15CoMoV cobalt steel core, a premium steel in the same class as VG-10, hardened to 60 HRC. Its flatter profile and fine edge glide through vegetables, fish and boneless meat with minimal drag. Every blade is hand sharpened and oiled before it ships.

No Two Handles Are Alike
Most knives come off a line looking identical. The Sapphire handle is poured by hand, one at a time, so the way the blue settles into the burl is different in every single knife.
- Burl wood, chosen piece by piece
Every handle starts with a block of stabilised burl, and no two blocks share the same grain or figure.
- Sapphire epoxy, poured by hand
The deep blue resin is poured around the burl by hand, so it flows, swirls and settles its own way each time.
- Shaped and polished to a glass finish
Once set, each handle is shaped and polished by hand until the blue glows when it catches the light.

Built For Performance
The handle gets the attention. The blade underneath earns its place on your board every day.
Deep blue resin poured by hand, one handle at a time. No two knives look the same.
Layered steel folded around the core for strength, flex and a pattern that is different on every blade.
A premium cobalt steel in the same class as VG-10, chosen for a keen edge that holds.
Hardened for edge retention, so it stays sharp through months of slicing, dicing and chopping.
Every blade is sharpened by hand, then inspected and oiled before it leaves us.
Burl at the bolster gives warmth and grip, and flows straight into the sapphire pour.
Why The Sapphire Santoku Stands Apart
A knife you reach for every day should be one you love looking at. This one is both.

Hand poured sapphire epoxy means every handle is a true one of one. The swirl in yours will never be repeated.

A flatter edge built for quick push cuts, so vegetables, fish and boneless meat come off the board in clean, even slices.

Folded steel with a pattern that is unique to every blade, so the blade is a one off too.

A 10Cr15CoMoV cobalt core at 60 HRC, hand sharpened before it ships. It holds that edge through months of daily prep.

On a magnetic strip or a block, the blue glow turns your kitchen wall into a showpiece. A gift they will never forget.

Cook with it for 99 days. If you do not love it, send it back for a full refund. No questions asked.

Questions? Let us help you
Is every handle really one of one?
Yes. Each handle is made by pouring sapphire epoxy around a block of stabilised burl wood by hand. The resin flows and settles differently every time and no two burl blocks share the same grain, so every handle is unique.
Will my handle look exactly like the photos?
It will have the same burl wood and sapphire blue look, but not the exact same pattern. That is the point. The photos show example handles, and yours arrives with its own swirl, depth and colour.
When will my knife ship?
The Sapphire Edition is in the final stages of production and will be ready to ship in around 2 weeks. Order now to reserve yours and it goes out as soon as it has been finished and inspected. Tracking is emailed to you the moment it is on its way.
How does 10Cr15CoMoV compare to VG-10?
They sit in the same class. 10Cr15CoMoV is a premium stainless steel with added cobalt, hardened here to 60 HRC. It takes a very keen edge, holds it well and resists staining, which is why it is used as the core in high end Damascus knives.
How is it different from the original Feather Forge?
Same best selling Feather Forge shapes. The Sapphire has a 67-layer Damascus blade around a 10Cr15CoMoV cobalt core and a handle of stabilised burl wood and hand poured sapphire epoxy, where the original uses 73 layers around an AUS-10 core with an olive burl handle.
How do I look after the epoxy handle?
Hand wash, dry straight away and never put it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking. Keep it away from direct heat like the edge of a hot pan. Treat it well and the handle stays glassy for life.
Do I need a discount code?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. There is nothing to enter at checkout.
Can I return it if I don't like it?
Yes. You get 99 days at home with it. If you are not completely happy, send it back for a full refund or exchange, even if you have used it.
How does the lifetime warranty work?
If your knife ever develops a manufacturing defect we repair or replace it free of charge, for the lifetime of the product. Email us photos and your order details and we take it from there. Like all lifetime warranties it does not cover misuse (prying, bones, frozen food), intentional damage, normal edge wear or rust from improper storage.
Can I order it as a gift?
Yes, and it makes a memorable one. Enter your own email for the order summary and the recipient's name and shipping address. We keep all prices and receipts out of the package.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on knife orders. The Emperor's Throne Set includes our acacia display block, which ships at our heavy-item rate, and that is shown in the cart before you pay.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer both domestic and international shipping options. Customs duties and taxes outside the US are the customer's responsibility.
